Mediatek has some great plans to introduce Face Unlock in entry level smartphones with its MT6739 chipset
Mediatek has announced its new chipset which would make entry level smarthphones come equipped with Face Unlock feature. After the advent of Google's GO program, MediaTek and several companies have joined hands to revolutionize experiences on entry level smartphones.
The new MT6739 will come equipped with Face++ facial recognition technology and will be compatible with the Android GO operating system. The chipset will also support Dual 4G VoLTE, 18:9 HD+ display and 13- megapixel plus 2-megapixel dual cameras with bokeh effect.
MediaTek is currently working with Indian companies like Micromax, Karbonn and Lava to make low cost smartphones powerful. The devices sporting the MT6739 will be priced under $100 and will be availabe starting March 2018.
